Bybit vs Bitget for Fee Cashback: Eligibility and Sign-Up Rules

Compare residence and identity requirements, new and existing account paths, and the eligible fees behind a cashback percentage before choosing Bybit or Bitget.

Affiliate disclosure: Trade Cashback may receive commission from eligible referrals. Exchange registration, approval of your Trade Cashback UID request and cashback payment are separate steps.

Start with the account you can actually use

A larger cashback percentage cannot make an ineligible account usable. First establish your residence and nationality, the exchange entity serving you, the product you need and whether your account already has a referrer.

Use the Bybit registration guide and Bitget registration guide for individual steps. Current offers and setup options are on the Bybit page and Bitget page, with partner links subject to our country checks.

Residence, exchange entity and product come first

Bybit's registration instructions ask for your residence and may redirect you to a regional site. Do not assume a global affiliate offer applies to that regional account.

Check Bybit's restricted-country list, updated 16 October 2026, and Bitget's Terms of Use, updated 20 October 2026. Their country restrictions differ. Neither access to a website nor a country's absence from a short summary proves that every product or affiliate offer is available. Use your actual residence; do not try to bypass a restriction.

Compare the route for your account status

Bybit's dedicated affiliate-code guide, updated 5 June 2026, describes a request within 14 days for unlinked main accounts. It supports affiliate codes, not ordinary user referral codes, excludes market-maker and institutional accounts, and remains subject to regional rules. Once added, the code cannot be canceled or changed.

Bybit's general registration guide says to enter the code before signing up. The separate request feature has limited eligibility. Check the field first, and do not assume support can override missing eligibility.

Bitget's affiliate rules, dated 8 October 2026, say invitations of already-registered users are not recognized. We have not verified an equivalent public post-registration window. An existing Bitget user should seek a review before expecting cashback, rather than opening another account or attempting to move identity verification.

Both exchanges require identity verification

Bybit's individual KYC FAQ requires at least Standard verification, with higher checks possible for particular regions or products. It also says KYC country restrictions are based on nationality, so checking residence alone is insufficient. Bitget's identity-verification guide requires Level 1 for core features and says unverified accounts cannot deposit, trade, withdraw or use P2P.

Submitting a public UID does not complete exchange KYC or establish referral eligibility. Follow the setup guide and await relationship approval and confirmed fee reporting. Do not send exchange passwords, login codes, identity documents or API keys to Trade Cashback.

Compare approved fee bases, not headline percentages

Bybit's affiliate FAQ, updated 19 September 2026, calculates its affiliate fee-profit base after market-maker rebates and bonuses or coupons. It also warns that other incentive arrangements can affect eligibility. The trading fee on a statement is therefore not automatically the amount used for affiliate commission.

Bitget's affiliate policy, updated 21 August 2026, also uses a net basis after applicable deductions. It excludes zero-fee and special-rate trades and gives rebate-card trades separate treatment. Its link-settings guide explains that rebate settings vary by account, region, product and campaign.

These are exchange rules for affiliate commissions. Trade Cashback's published service offer is a separate arrangement. Check the current service rate, its eligible base and the approved account relationship together; do not add an exchange promotion to a service percentage or assume all displayed rates can be combined.

A worked example with the same hypothetical percentage

Suppose two fee reports each show 100 USDT paid, and a hypothetical service refunds 40% of approved eligible fees. One report has 100 USDT approved; the other has only 40 USDT approved after exclusions. The calculation is:

Approved eligible feesHypothetical service shareExample cashback
100 USDT40%100 × 0.40 = 40 USDT
40 USDT40%40 × 0.40 = 16 USDT
0 USDT40%0 USDT

Neither row represents a verified Bybit or Bitget offer. The point is the approved base, not the exchange name. The percentage applies to eligible fees, not your deposit or trading volume. The cashback calculator can illustrate assumptions; your exchange report and approved service conditions determine the actual result.

Make the decision, then verify the relationship

First check country, entity and product availability. Then check your referral status and permitted account path. Finally compare eligible fees and current service conditions. If neither account qualifies, neither percentage solves the problem. Cashback does not remove trading losses or justify extra trading.

Official sources and review date

Trade Cashback reviewed these official sources on 21 October 2026. They document exchange rules, not our payout offer. Current numeric tariffs and support for these affiliate paths across every regional entity were not verified.

Reviewed on 21 October 2026. This comparison does not verify current trading-fee tariffs or guarantee eligibility, a referral transfer or a payout. Country, product and affiliate rules can change. Trade Cashback may receive affiliate commissions; its service cashback requires an approved relationship and eligible reported fees. The calculation below is hypothetical, not a current offer. Nothing here is investment advice.
